Samba set to join QPR relegation fight
QPR have reportedly made an offer for Anzhi Makhachkala defender Chris Samba.
Hoops manager Harry Redknapp is seeking reinforcements at the back after Ryan Nelsen played his last game for the club against Manchester City on Tuesday night, with the defender set to coach Major League Soccer's Toronto FC.
Sky Sports sources claim QPR have turned to Samba as a potential replacement for the centre-back, tabling a bid with Russian giants Anzhi.
A move to Loftus Road would see Samba back in English football for the first time since last year's winter transfer window, when he made the switch to Russia from Blackburn.
He departed Ewood Park following four and a half seasons with the club after joining from Hertha Berlin in 2007.
It is not the first time QPR have made a move for former Congo international Samba, having reportedly seen a bid turned down while he was at Rovers.
