Lanus striker Eduardo Salvio will not be joining Spanish club Atletico Madrid before the summer, according to the Argentine club's president.

Nicolas Russo told Marca newspaper that the Argentina striker was "definitely" staying at the club because the two teams could not agree on a transfer price.

Russo says that Salvio would stay to help the team's Copa Libertadores campaign but that Atletico would have first priority in signing the 19-year-old in June.

Salvio made his debut with Argentina this year.
