Sagnol: Bayern's Guardiola should join Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has been urged to join Manchester City at the end of the season by former Bayern Munich full-back Willy Sagnol.

The Bayern manager's three-year contract expires in June 2016 and there is a growing clamour for Guardiola to try his luck in the Premier League.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said this week that Guardiola's future will be resolved by Christmas.

"There will be a Christmas surprise, one way or the other," said Rummenigge

Guardiola has lifted consecutive Bundesliga titles with the German giants since his appointment in 2013, while also guiding them to the German Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup and Sagnol thinks it may be the time for Guardiola to seek a new challenge.

"Guardiola should leave Bayern if he feels that he has done everything he could," Sagnol, who is now boss of Bordeaux, told Kicker.

"He should start a new project if that's the case. Coaches always think about projects.

"I reckon Manchester City would be a bigger challenge for him than Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain. There is still plenty of work to do there."
