In the absence of Ashley Cole, Gibbs made his first start for his country in the 2-1 defeat against Sagna's France at Wembley on Wednesday. Sagna told Sky Sports News: "I think he did well. It was difficult on the left side and he caused us some problems. "He was subbed because he will probably play at the weekend and I am quite proud to see him play." Sagna feels that Gibbs will become the future England left-back. "I think he will be their next left-back and he did really well," he added.
