RVP out, no more buys for Arsenal
Arsene Wenger confirmed Robin van Persie will be out for less than two weeks, but also that Arsenal will not be buying a new goalkeeper.
Van Persie was substituted in the first half of Arsenal's 2-1 win over Blackburn, and Wenger said after the game that the Dutchman had only twisted his ankle, and would be out for "eight to ten days".
And on the transfer window he added: "At the moment it's all dead. For us the transfer period is already over."
Arsenal were drawn with Tottenham in the third round of the Carling Cup, about which he added: "It's exciting. We always play our young team in the Carling Cup. It will be interesting and a good experience for them. We have some very good young players."
On the game, Wenger said: "I'm convinced we have more experience in the box - but no matter who you are they (Blackburn) give you a strong test. We were a bit lucky at some stages but overall we showed really good commitment."
On Walcott he said: "Give credit to him, he's a young boy and will only improve."
