Ecuador's football federation says Reinaldo Rueda will continue as coach despite the national team's group stage elimination from the Copa America.
Federation president Luis Chiriboga said Wednesday the leadership voted to stick with Rueda ''with the object of being present ... in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.''
Ecuador lost to Venezuela and Brazil and drew with Paraguay in the Copa America.
Rueda, who took Honduras to the 2010 World Cup, is aiming to guide Ecuador to Brazil 2014. Ecuador qualified for the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.
