Rovers still have time

Jordan Rhodes insists Blackburn have plenty of time to turn around their floundering season - starting with the busy festive period.

Rhodes has been one of the few bright spots in a dismal campaign, continuing the prolific scoring form that saw him command a club-record fee of ?8million for Huddersfield in August by netting 11 times in 19 games for Rovers.

During that time Henning Berg has been installed as Steve Kean's successor in the Ewood Park hotseat and presided over a run of one win in nine matches that leaves Blackburn 15th in the Championship and some way off their target of an instant return to the top flight.

"The season is not even half way through yet, there are going to be lots of twists and turns along the way," Scotland striker Rhodes told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"There are going to be teams who are not in it at the moment in it by the end and teams that will hope for promotion that might not even be in the top six at the moment.

"You only have to look at Reading last season. There are plenty of points up for grabs still, there are plenty of games to play and we just have to enjoy it between now and the end of the season.

"You look at Reading's form last season, where they came from nowhere to get promoted. Winning breeds a positive mentality. It is an important Christmas period coming up and going into the new year it would be nice to pick up a head of steam coming into the play-off time."
