Ronaldinho is facing the prospect of a three-match suspension for a tackle in Flamengo's 0-0 draw with Fluminense in the Rio Cup on Sunday.

The sliding challenge came as Ronaldinho sprinted toward a loose ball, coming dangerously close to hitting Fluminense goalkeeper Ricardo Berna inside the penalty area. Ronaldinho was immediately given a yellow card.

The Justica Desportiva website says the tribunal is scheduled to make a ruling on March 23.

Ronaldinho, a two-time FIFA world player of the year, has been key for popular club Flamengo since returning to Brazilian football after a 10-year career in Europe.
