Rodwell promises more to come
Jack Rodwell feels he still has a point to prove at Manchester City and has vowed that there is more to come from him.
The midfielder completed a switch to City from Everton last summer, but saw the injury troubles which have plagued him in the recent past restrict him to just 15 appearances during his debut campaign for the Blues.
He was, however, able to end the season on a high - with a final day brace against Norwich City followed by a recall to the senior England squad.
Rodwell is now readying himself for a busy summer and hopes to be at peak fitness and ready to hit the ground running by the time the 2013/14 campaign gets under way.
The 22-year-old said: "It's a new chapter for me. I have a lot to prove to City fans as they have not seen the best of me yet, so I'm excited about that.
"This season has been a bit stop-start but with the new boss coming in, coming back for pre-season will be a fresh start - almost a new career.
"I don't feel that I am making up for lost time. If I did, I'd probably never sleep at night.
"Hopefully next season I will get games under my belt and be back to where I should be.
"Getting the England call-up has capped the season off well."
