The last day for European football clubs to make any signings until 2011 ended Tuesday with AC Milan capturing Manchester City misfit Robinho to form a formidable forward line, and several World Cup players switching teams.
Robinho joined Milan on a four-year contract to link up with newly signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato.
English club Sunderland paid a club-record fee for Ghana forward Asamoah Gyan from French team Rennes, and Bundesliga side Schalke signed Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar on a three-year contract from Milan.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal resisted the chance to make any late additions to their squads.
