Rio Ferdinand has revealed he would like to win a new deal to end his career at Manchester United.

The England captain has two years to run on his current contract, but he would be happy to extend it to stay at Old Trafford for the rest of his career.

The 32-year-old has struggled with a series of injuries over the last two years, but the former Leeds and West Ham man hopes to prove to Sir Alex Ferguson he deserves a longer stay at United.

"I want to finish my career at United," Ferdinand told the Daily Telegraph.

"I have two years on my contract, and if the manager sees that I am fit enough, a four-year deal at that age would be great."
