Bayern Munich has reportedly agreed to sign striker Nils Petersen for ?2.5 million ($3.5 million) from second-division side Energie Cottbus.

The Sueddeutscher Zeitung newspaper reported Saturday that the 22-year-old Petersen - topscorer in Germany's second division with 24 goals - will sign a three-year contract with Bayern after a medical examination next week.

Kicker magazine said Petersen talked during the week with Jupp Heynckes who will coach Bayern next season.

The future of Miroslav Klose, meanwhile, remains in doubt. Die Welt says the 32-year-old Germany striker wants to extend his contract by two years, with Bayern prepared only to offer one.
