Barcelona B-team coach Luis Enrique has reportedly reached a deal to take over Roma.

The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Spaniard has agreed to a two-year deal worth ?1.5 million ($2.2 million) per season plus award incentives, with an option for a third year.

The deal can't be made official until Roma's board of directors appoints a delegate to sign the deal, since the club is in the process of changing ownership.

A group of American investors led by Boston executive Thomas DiBenedetto signed a deal in April to take over the club, but the change has not been approved by Italian regulators yet.

Luis Enrique worked closely under senior team coach Pep Guardiola at European champion Barcelona.

Vincenzo Montella coached Roma for the final four months of last season.
