Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp insists he has no intention of selling Jermain Defoe - or any other Spurs stars for that matter.
Despite the departure of Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane in the summer, Defoe has spent much of the season on the bench as Rafael van der Vaart has usually been preferred with on-loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Defoe has recently been linked with a January move to QPR or Everton in a bid to boost his chances of making England's Euro 2012 squad.
But Redknapp claims the 29-year-old is going nowhere in the transfer window - and neither are any first-team regulars.
"His future's here," he told Sky Sports News. "We ain't selling any of our best players.
"There's going to be no-one leaving in January that we want to keep, that's for sure.
"If we're going to do anything we'll add to the squad, we won't be weakening it at all. That's the message from both myself and the chairman.
"If people are not in the side I'm sure they're disappointed but we'll need a squad."
Redknapp is preparing for Sunday's trip to Stoke and is again set to choose between Van der Vaart, who has six goals from nine Premier League starts this season, and Defoe, who has six from six.
"They're both in good form and have both been scoring goals when they've played," Redknapp added.
"Whoever's come in has been in good form so it's a nice problem to have."
Redknapp does not want a repeat of the summer saga which saw Chelsea make several bids for midfielder Luka Modric and although Spurs managed to hold onto the Croatian playmaker, it took weeks to get back near his best.
With Modric staying, Jermaine Jenas was sent on loan to Aston Villa on deadline day but calf and Achilles problems meant he had to wait three months to make his first Villa start against Manchester United on Saturday.
The 28-year-old midfielder suffered another Achilles injury that required surgery and rules him out for six months.
Jenas would then have another season on his Tottenham contract so Redknapp insists he could still play a part for Spurs.
"JJ's got a future here," he said. "It was unfortunate. It looked horrific when I watched it again.
"Just to snap his Achilles like that is a real bad injury. David Beckham had the same injury a couple of years back.
"Most of the season's going to be gone for JJ now, but he still belongs to us. He's on loan there and whether he'll come back here and do his rehab or do it at Villa I don't know.
"The physios spoke to him yesterday and that's his decision so we'll have to wait and see."
