Red Star defeats Saint-Germain on penalties
Red Star Belgrade defeated Paris Saint-Germain on penalties on Saturday to win the Chicago Sister Cities International Cup.
The teams played to a 1-1 draw in regulation before going to a shootout and the scores were still level after both team converted six attempts. Saint-Germain's Jean-Eudes Maurice took the seventh kick and Red Star goalkeeper Sasa Stamenkovic saved the shot by tipping it over the bar.
Milan Jeremic scored moments later for Red Star.
Red Star took advantage of Saint-Germain playing a man down after Zoumana Camara was sent off with a red card. Cadu sprinted toward the goal and snuck the ball past goalkeeper Edel Apoula in the 73rd minute to make it 1-0.
Saint Germain's Marco Ceara equalized in the first minute of stoppage time.
