The New York Red Bulls have acquired former U.S. national team
defender Chris Albright from the New England Revolution for two
picks in the MLS draft.
The Red Bulls announced on Thursday that they sent a second
and a third-round pick - the 31st and 48th choices in Thursday's
draft - for Albright.
New York still has five picks in the draft, including the
second and 14th overall.
The Revolution acquired Albright from the Los Angeles Galaxy
in January 2008 for allocation money. He played in 26 games in 2008
but played in only one last season because of injuries to his left
knee. He had surgery in April.
The 31-year-old Albright has played on three MLS Cup
champions with D.C. United in 1999 and the Galaxy in 2002 and 2005.
