Real Salt Lake beat Toronto 4-1 on Wednesday in the CONCACAF Champions League to extend its all-competitions home unbeaten streak to 28 games.
Toronto, playing its first game under interim coach Nick Dasovic after Preki was fired, led early through a Maicon Santos goal in the eighth minute before Real took over.
Kyle Beckerman and Jamison Olave headed in from corners in the 21st and 40th minutes respectively to give the hosts a halftime lead.
Toronto was reduced to ten men midway through the second half when Spanish forward Mista was sent off and soon after Alvaro Saborio slotted home a penalty to make it 3-1.
