Argentine midfielder Martin Rivero is expected to be sidelined for two to three months of the Major League Soccer season while recovering from a fracture in his right foot.

Rivero, who is on loan to the Colorado Raids from Rosario Central, was injured Tuesday in a preseason match against the Portland Timbers. The Rapids lost 3-1.

The Rapids said Rivero was returning to Denver on Wednesday for further evaluation of his injury.
