Raonic ousts Murray to reach Barcelona semifinals

Milos Raonic of Canada fired 14 aces past Andy Murray on his way to a 6-4, 7-6 (3) victory to reach the Barcelona Open semifinals.
Raonic, who trains year-round at the Real Club de Tenis, controlled from the start and. He broke the fourth-ranked Murray to lead 5-4, reached set point with an ace before smacking a forehand down the line to take the first set.
Raonic saved three of four break points on the outdoor clay and converted two of his own. He'll play either David Ferrer or Feliciano Lopez in the next round.
Six-time winner Rafael Nadal plays Janko Tipsarevic later Friday, while Fernando Verdasco faces Kei Nishikori in the other quarterfinal.
