Ramsey to keep Wales captaincy

Former Coventry and Fulham boss Coleman was named as Wales manager earlier this week as a replacement for the late Gary Speed.

Coleman has promised not to make too many changes from the set-up Gary Speed introduced and he is happy to see Ramsey remain as skipper.

"I haven't spoken to Aaron about the armband - but it's obvious I'm not looking to change that," admitted Coleman. "Aaron is the captain and I think he's going to be a good captain.

"He's not doing anything wrong in my eyes, so why would I change that?

"When Gary gave him the armband I did think, 'Is it a gamble because he's very young?' and, 'Will it harm his progression?'

"But now I think it was a brilliant move by Gary because he's really grown into it.

"The best captains are often not the ones ranting, raving and screaming all the time. You have thinkers and they lead through their play. Aaron certainly does that."
