Racing Club moves up to third
A stormy 1-1 draw with nine-man Lanus helped 10-man Racing Club move into third place in the Argentinian Torneo Apertura.
On a temperamental night in Avellaneda, Lanus took a 20th-minute lead through Diego Valeri's penalty, before both sides were reduced to 10 men in the 32nd minute when the combustible Mauro Camoranesi (Lanus) and Patricio Toranzo (Racing) squared-up.
Things calmed down and Gabriel Hauche levelled just shy of the hour, before Lanus were forced to defend for 30 minutes with nine men as Carlos Izquierdoz received his marching orders.
Belgrano Cordoba are level on points with Racing Club and a place behind in fourth after a 1-0 win at Tigre.
Federico Mancuello did the damage as early as the sixth minute.
The night's other game was Godoy Cruz and San Martin San Juan share four goals as they drew 2-2.
Sebastian Penco gave San Martin the lead on the stroke of half-time, only for Ruben Ramirez to level four minutes after it.
Raul Saavedra restored the visitors' lead, only for Ramirez to strike again seven minutes from time.
