Pulis hands trial to Boenisch
Pulis is optimistic that Kightly, who is entering the final year of his contract at relegated Wolves, will be available for Tuesday night's pre-season friendly at Yeovil Town.
"I'm hoping it will be done and if it is, we can get him down to play some part at Yeovil," the Stoke boss said in The Sentinel. "I think he can score goals. It's not just his ability to go past people and provide."
Meanwhile, Pulis is trialling Poland left-back Boenisch, who is a free agent after his contract expired at Werder Bremen.
The 25-year-old featured against Torquay on Monday night and will also be involved in the trip to Yeovil.
"He played in all of Poland's games at Euro 2012," said Pulis. "We said we would bring him down and play him in the two games to have a look.
"I don't think he's done much training since the Euros and I think that showed."
Pulis is also waiting to learn whether versatile American defender Geoff Cameron will be granted a work permit at a hearing on Wednesday to complete his arrival.
"He's got a great presence, good legs and he's a passer of the ball. He will be a great addition," added Pulis.
Robert Huth, meanwhile, missed the game at Torquay and could even miss the start of the new season after contracting a mystery virus.
"It's a major concern so close to the start of the new season because Huthy is such an important figure for us," Pulis said.
"It takes a lot to knock Huthy back but he was clearly not well, so we have sent him to hospital and will hopefully have the results of the tests on Wednesday.
"We're just hoping he will be fine and it's not too serious."
