Puebla secures InterLiga semifinal berth

Puebla secured a place in the semifinals of the Mexican InterLiga with a 1-0 win over Chiapas on Wednesday.

Former Sevilla midfielder Nicolas Olivera scored the sole goal in 67th minute, giving Puebla two wins from two games.

In Wednesday's other Group B game, UANL Tigres and Monterrey drew 1-1, leaving the other semifinal berth to be decided on the last round-robin games on Sunday.

Monterrey has two points, with Chiapas and Tigres each on one. In the deciding games in Los Angeles, Puebla faces Tigres and Monterrey takes on Chiapas.

Jose Gonzalez put Tigres ahead in the 53rd minute, before Monterrey's Jose Maria Basanta equalized in stoppage time.

The InterLiga, played in the United States, is a tournament among Mexican clubs to determine the nation's last two entrants in the Copa Libertadores - the South American club championship.
