Sixteen Paris Saint-Germain fans have been banned from stadiums
following clashes, and France president Nicolas Sarkozy strongly
condemned the violence.
The Paris prosecutor's office said Wednesday the fans will
have to show up at police stations during matches. Another fan was
sentenced to a six-month suspended jail term for "aggravated
violence."
Clashes involving hooligans from the two main stands at PSG's
stadium Parc des Princes, the Tribune d'Auteuil and the Kop of
Boulogne, erupted last Sunday before and after a 3-0 loss to
Marseille in the French league.
A 38-year-old man sustained a head injury and was in a
critical condition on Wednesday.
