French club Evian has signed midfielder Christian Poulsen from Liverpool on a one-year deal.

The 31-year-old Denmark international was introduced Wednesday at the training center of the promoted club.

Evian and Liverpool reached an agreement Tuesday evening over the transfer of Poulsen, who was signed from Juventus in 2010 by Roy Hodgson but struggled to get playing time under Hodgson's successor, Kenny Dalglish.

Poulsen helped Sevilla win the UEFA Cup and the Copa del Rey in 2007.
