Walters joined Stoke last summer from Ipswich and finshed the campaign as City's joint top scorer alongside Kenwyne Jones with 12 goals as Stoke reached the FA Cup final. Greenhoff believes any new striker joining the Potters this summer will find it hard to dislodge Walters from City's starting XI. Tony Pulis has been linked with moves for West Ham United striker Carlton Cole, former Hammers hitman Victor Obinna and Birmingham City forward Cameron Jerome. But Greenhoff has been impressed with Walters and told The Sentinel: "As a player I like him a hell of a lot. He understands the game. He works hard, but he isn't just running around like a headless chicken." Greenhoff explained: "He also makes good runs within the box; he doesn't just stand around. When he is making those runs to the near post he is also making space for other players. "Jon Walters is proving invaluable to the team. If any striker signs thinking they will walk straight into the team, then I think Jon will have something to say about that."
