Potter boss Pulis happy at home

Steve Kean has been put in charge until the end of the season after the India-based Venky's group decided Sam Allardyce was not the man to take the club forward. Pulis has no such worries at the Britannia Stadium, where he receives the unequivocal support of owner Peter Coates as he tries to establish the Potters in the Premier League for the long term. He was saddened by the way Allardyce - and even Newcastle's Chris Hughton before him - were dispensed with but admits modern football is changing. "Football is a funny old world. You need results as a manger and the disappointing think with Chris and Sam is that they were getting results and still got the sack," said Pulis. "As a manager if results don't go your way you know eventually things will change but when it is not a result-related decision that is when it is very disappointing. "We have always said we are very fortunate as a club and a community to have a local person and local business involved in Peter Coates and (his business) Bet 365 who subsidise this club "I am just very pleased to be at this club with Peter and the family being in charge. "But is it not just the club, they are part of the community and everything done here is done in conjunction with the community. "I think we have been a very stable club for nearly five years and it is also a club where everyone seems to understand where we are trying to get and what we are trying to do and financially it is run in a proper manner." Coincidentally, Stoke were the visitors to Ewood Park for Allardyce's first match in charge two years ago when Rovers marked the occasion with a 3-0 victory. Kean has already had one match at home - the 1-1 draw with West Ham last weekend - so Pulis is not that concerned about an immediate reaction from the Blackburn players. And in any case, he does not believe he can worry too much about what is happening in Lancashire. "I am a great believer in that you can only affect what you do, not what other people are doing," he added. "I can't comment on what is being said or not being said. The only thing I am concerned about is making sure our players are prepared. "Blackburn's record at home is absolutely first class (they have lost two of nine matches), irrespective of who is manager, "It is a proud club and their players will be doing their damnedest to get a result. "They are very competent and competitive side and if we go there and are not at our best Blackburn will beat us."
