Portugal routs Luxembourg 5-0 in friendly
Hugo Almeida scored a pair of goals as Portugal cruised to a 5-0 victory over Luxembourg in an international friendly on Wednesday.
Portugal had little trouble at the Algarve stadium as Helder Postiga started the rout by converting Cristiano Ronaldo's delivery in the 26th minute.
Ronaldo, who only featured in the first half, doubled the advantage just before the break before Real Madrid teammate Fabio Coentrao made it 3-0 in the 47th with a header.
Almeida, who replaced Postiga after the break, then added his brace by first netting a hard shot in the 59th before capping the lopsided defeat in the 73rd by scoring from Nani's pass from the left.
Portugal is top of Group H in 2012 European Championship alongside Norway and Denmark with 10 points each. It's next group match is at Cyprus on Sept. 2.
