Poland goalkeeper Boruc joins Fiorentina

Poland goalkeeper Artur Boruc has completed his move from Celtic to Fiorentina after passing a medical at the Serie A club.

The 30-year-old Boruc moved for an undisclosed fee and immediately joined his teammates Thursday for pre-season training.

He will be in competition with Frenchman Sebastien Frey for the starting goalkeeper's jersey.

Boruc joined Celtic from Legia Warsaw in 2005 and had a year left on his contract at the Scottish club. He has won 44 caps for Poland and was first-choice goalkeeper at the 2006 World Cup and the 2008 European Championship.
