Poland captain Jakub Blaszczykowski scored in the first half to give Poland a 1-0 win over Georgia in an international friendly on Wednesday.

Blaszczykowski shot beyond goalkeeper Giorgi Loria in the 36th minute after receiving a precise pass from forward Robert Lewandowski.

Poland had a goal disallowed after Lewandowski was judged to have elbowed Georgia defender Ucza Lobzanidze in the penalty area in the 19th minute.

Georgia's David Targamadze also found the net in the 46th but was ruled offside. The visitors had another chance in the 61st, but goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny made a diving save to stop a powerful shot from Otar Marcvaladze.
