Michel Platini says he could announce next month whether he'll run to replace Sepp Blatter as president of FIFA.

Platini is president of European soccer's governing body. He has long been thought to be the likely successor to Blatter, but the current president could try to stay on the job.

Platini says he'll ''certainly say something'' in Dubrovnik, Croatia, where UEFA will hold its executive committee meeting Sept. 19-20.

In an interview in Wednesday's L'Equipe, the former soccer star from France says he's ''reflecting'' on whether to run in 2015.

He says: ''I have to convince myself that it's my destiny, that it's good for football.''
