Phil prepared to work his way up
The 33-year-old former Manchester United midfielder is already looking to the future and fancies his chances of becoming a successful manager. Neville told Talksport: "I'm getting to the age now where I have to start looking at the next chapter of my life. "As players, we love playing football and we love the game, and this is the next obvious step. You've been doing one job for so many years, and you've got another 35 years to do another, and for me that means going into coaching and management." However, Neville accepts he is probably better off beginning in the lower leagues and gradually work his way up the ladder. He added: "Just because you've had a great career doesn't mean you will be a great manager. "The advice I have been given is to start at the very bottom and learn everything you can, and see where that takes you. "I've been fortunate to work with some unbelievable managers and gained some great football experience myself. The challenge is to get across everything you've learned to your team. Hopefully that is the challenge for the next 30 years."
