Peter Schmeichel signs up for Sina Sports series
Danish goalkeeping great Peter Schmeichel has partnered with Sina Sports and will serve as a pundit and commentator for the Chinese online portal’s soccer programming.
The former Manchester United player, who retired in 2003, will join Sina’s Protalk China web series, an original show marketed at Chinese audiences which also features input from the likes of Chelsea star Eden Hazard and future Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Schmeichel will provide exclusive interviews and commentary on a regular basis whilst interacting with fans and viewers.
Under the agreement, Sina Sports will be designated as the ‘official digital media partner of Peter Schmeichel in China’.
“I am very focused on growing my connection to fans in China, and partnering with Sina Sports on this programme is a perfect opportunity for me,” said Schmeichel, 52.
“There are clearly exciting things happening in the Chinese sports industry, particularly in football, and I look forward to being a significant part of it.”
Sina Sports is also the exclusive broadcaster in China of Manchester United TV, the dedicated channel of Schmeichel’s former employers.
