Rovers climbed out of the bottom three for the first time since September following their 3-1 win over Fulham at Ewood Park on Saturday.
That win was achieved without their totemic skipper Chris Samba who missed the game through illness.
Samba has since handed in a written transfer request which has been rejected by the Lancashire side, and Pedersen would like the club to retain all their prized assets.
"We have to play with the players we have got," he told Sky Sports News.
"Everybody is contracted to the club. We have to play the strongest team every week, and if people get sold or bought in that is a part of life.
"For us at the moment, I think it's important for us to keep the best players and try to be safe."
Rovers' scrap against relegation has been played out against a backdrop of supporter unrest.
Fans have demonstrated inside and outside their ground about the lack of communication from their Indian-based owners Venky's, and against manager Steve Kean who has endured a string of bad results.
Pedersen, however, feels he and his team-mates cannot afford to be distracted by off-the-field matters, but he does concede they are not the ideal circumstances to play under.
"Sometimes you just have to lock things out, it's tough for us, it's tough for everybody," he added.
"We don't want to be in that part of the league, we don't want to be in the bottom, we want to be higher up.
"But you just have to work hard and lock some things out of your head, and just focus on the games.
"We just have to work hard and that's the main thing, it's tough for everybody, the manager and the fans and everyone associated with Blackburn Rovers.
"In the end, we want to get out of this position, but we know it will be hard work and it won't be easy."
