Morten Gamst Pedersen believes potential Blackburn boss Henning Berg has 'an incredibly good reputation', and would welcome his appointment.

The former Lillestrom manager is thought to have held meetings with the Championship outfit on Monday as they seek to appoint a successor to Steve Kean.

Blackburn midfielder Pedersen, who has been at the club since 2004, did not want to speculate on the rumoured Berg deal.

Nevertheless, he told VG Nett that fellow Norwegian Berg has an "incredibly good reputation in the club", and that his history with the club must be to his advantage.

Berg was part of the Rovers' side which clinched the Premier League title in 1995 and played over 250 games in two stints with the club.

Meanwhile, Norway's national team coach Egil Olsen believes Berg's experience in England will help him succeed.

"I think Henning would fit almost anywhere. He is an accomplished manager. He knows the society and the culture in England.

"I think it could work out well, it will be exciting to see," Olsen told VG Nett.
