Pearce interested in coaching British Olympic team

England under-21 coach Stuart Pearce wants to coach Britain's football side at next year's London Olympics.

Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland do not want their players selected for fear of jeopardizing their independent status with world governing body FIFA, so England's Football Association has been asked to prepare a team by the British Olympic Association.

Pearce told The Times of London that ''having worked with a lot of players that will be drawn from this age group, I would be very interested.''

The coach is likely to have only a small pool of players since those involved in the 2012 European Championship are likely to sit out the tournament.

Pearce added that he would like players from all four nations available.
