Parnaby has acted as Stephen Carr's understudy so far this season but the 28-year-old was drafted in at left-back at the weekend and now hopes to build on that appearance. He told the Birmingham Mail: "The gaffer spoke to me after training on Friday and said he needed my experience. "I am comfortable playing. I am always ready for it. "I know it's always going to be hard for me with Stevie doing as well as he has. "But if you have got that head strength to be ready, then I don't see why just because I haven't played I shouldn't be at the top of my game. "I train every day so fitness-wise I should be fine. It's sometimes when you haven't played 90 minutes, but I felt fine. "After about 75 minutes on Saturday I had a bit of a blow but then got it back. I just really enjoy playing. I enjoy my football and try not to get uptight about it when I'm not included. "I just try to enjoy it as much as I can and I think it shows when I am out there."
