PAOK is facing punishment after a fan threw a flare onto the field that hit AEK Athens goalkeeper Sebastian Saja during a Greek Cup match.

AEK advanced to the final after the 1-0 win, but Wednesday's match also was interrupted for five minutes after PAOK fans ran onto the field and attacked AEK officials.

Saja, an Argentine, was not injured by the flare.

Greek football is already in turmoil due to violence and match-fixing allegations that prompted a judicial probe and government funding review. Football federation and club officials could not be reached for comment Thursday.
