Panathinaikos won the Greek Cup on Saturday after Sebastian Leto
scored in the second half to secure a 1-0 win over Aris in the
final.
The win secured Panathinaikos' 17th cup title and the
domestic double after being crowned league champion last week.
Leto caught the Aris defense and goalkeeper Michalis Sifakis
by surprise when he unleashed a low drive from 30 meters (yards) in
the 63rd minute. The ball bounced twice before resting in Sifakis'
left corner.
Both teams struggled to create chances, but underdog Aris was
the most dangerous team for long stretches.
Before the game, there were clashes between fans and police
outside the stadium. At least 55 fans were detained and 18
arrested, with nine police officers injured.
