Dagenham were edged out 2-1 by Premier League new boys Crystal Palace at Victoria Road.

The Eagles, in their first pre-season friendly of the summer, were dominant and could have won by a greater margin despite a late period of pressure from their Sky Bet League Two hosts.

Trialist Atdhe Nuhiu put Palace ahead from close range in the 34th minute and, after the visitors replaced their entire starting XI at the break, Owen Garvan's penalty doubled their advantage in the second half.

The Daggers pulled one back courtesy of a spot-kick of their own, Medy Elito netting from 12 yards, although it was not enough to earn a draw despite a late charge.
