The veteran striker came off the bench to score in Blackpool's 3-1 win over Tottenham on Tuesday, a goal that meant Ormerod has now scored in all four divisions for the club. The 34-year-old will now turn his attention to trying to secure a new deal at Bloomfield Road, a feat made difficult by an unusual clause in his current contract. The deal stipulates the striker must be on the pitch for 50 per cent of the season, meaning the former Southampton and Preston man would need to play almost every remaining minute of the season to retain his current rate. Contract issues aside, Ormerod insists he is loving the Seasiders' top-flight adventure, despite being a bit-part player thus far. "I have to pinch myself to prove everything that's happened to the club is real. The rise has been incredible," he said. "When I first played not one of these stands was here - it was a run-down stadium and we were going nowhere. "Now look at us. A practically new stadium, 12th in the Premier League and playing the sort of football everyone loves watching. "It's great for the town and everyone connected with it." The most pressing matter for Ormerod and the club is to secure Premier League survival, a task made easier following Tuesday's shock win. "It was a fantastic result," he added. "When you've been on a run like us and you're dropping like a stone, little doubts will always creep in. "The gaffer has stayed incredibly positive. He has kept us positive too, telling us we don't always get what we deserve and our luck would turn. "He kept reminding us we'd have given our right arms last year to be in this position."
