N'Zogbia out to prove point

During his time at Newcastle the Frenchman was given the nickname by then manager Joe Kinnear. The winger quit St James' Park days later and rebuilt his reputation at Wigan. He left the DW Stadium for Aston Villa in a £9.5million move this summer. After scoring 10 goals for Wigan last season his career at Villa Park has got off to a slow start, having not scored so far this season. He is confident though that he will soon prove himself at Villa and laughed off Kinnear's comments. N'Zogbia told the Daily Mirror: "For me, it is the past. I was young and didn't know the manager well. "Maybe he (Kinnear) came to Newcastle at the wrong time and there was pressure. "The best thing to do to deal with it is to move on and forget it. So I have forgotten about that since I moved to Wigan and have had nothing to do with him. "Sometimes when you move to a different club it takes time (to settle). But when we start winning again it will give us more confidence. "It is really good to be here. I know from training we have some really good players. It will take time but I think we will be a good team and hard to beat. "We lost two great players (in Ashley Young and Stewart Downing) and now have to deal with a lot of young players." The Frenchman nearly joined Villa's cross-city rivals Birmingham last season when Alex McLeish was manager at St Andrew's. N'Zogbia added: "I nearly signed for Birmingham and Alex, but I didn't agree personal terms. Sometimes it happens. If you are not happy with the contract, no-one is forcing you to sign it."
