Borussia Dortmund says midfielder Nuri Sahin will be out for two to three weeks with an ankle injury.

In a statement published on its website on Sunday, the Bundesliga club added that Sahin suffered a partial ligament tear in his right ankle during Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Dortmund midfielders Sebastian Kehl and Ilkay Gundogan were already missing through a torn right foot ligament and back injury, respectively.

Another, Sven Bender, is doubtful for Germany's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ireland and Sweden.

Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp said after the defeat to Moenchengladbach, ''he has something like bruising all over his body.''

Dortmund is also missing defenders Sokratis (thigh), Marcel Schmelzer (partial tear in left thigh) and Lukasz Piszczek (groin and hip) through injury.
