Nuremberg has appointed a former coach of its junior side and an assistant to jointly take over the job left open by the departure of Dieter Hecking to Bundesliga rival Wolfsburg.
The club said Monday that under-23 coach Michael Wiesinger and Hecking's assistant Armin Reutershahn will be in charge of the team when the Bundesliga season resumes Jan. 18.
Hecking was signed two days ago by Wolfsburg.
Nuremberg will become the second club in the Bundesliga to have a two-man coaching team leading the side. Bayer Leverkusen's Sascha Lewandowski and Sami Hyypia have guided the team to second place in the standings.
