No Napoli talks for Gomez

Mario Gomez's agent has rejected reports that the Bayern Munich striker has been in talks with Napoli over a move to Serie A.

Germany international Gomez lost his place as Bayern's No.1 striker to Mario Mandzukic last season and has been linked with a summer move away from the Allianz Arena.

Pep Guardiola's appointment as coach, coupled with Bayern's bid to sign Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund, has prompted speculation he will be sold.

Newly-appointed Napoli coach Rafa Benitez has been linked with a bid for the 27-year-old, but Gomez's agent Uli Ferber has not held talks with other clubs as he considers his future.

"We have never been discussing a transfer with Napoli," Ferber told Stuttgarter Zeitung.

"I am going to sort out the future of Mario Gomez in the next couple of days. Actually, I feel those next three to four days could see us get a clear idea about it."

Gomez is under contract at Bayern for a further three seasons and has also been linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.
