Nigeria FA chief claims hacked email

The president of the Nigerian Football Federation says his email account has been hacked and that he doesn't need money from his friends.

In a statement through the federation, Aminu Maigari says he realized Tuesday that his emails had been compromised and hackers sent a message to his contacts asking for money while he was out of the country. Maigari says ''this is far from the truth.''

The NFF boss said he will be traveling to Brazil later Tuesday to attend Friday's World Cup draw and the email asking for cash to help him with a project he is working on was ''the handiwork of fraudsters.''

“Hackers posted a message that I needed everyone to come up with a sum of money to complete a project I am working,” Maigari said in an official statement. “It's not true."
