The French football league has ordered Nice to play its home game against Paris Saint-Germain behind closed doors next weekend.

Nice hooligans invaded the field and attacked Monaco fans at Stade Louis II stadium during a French league match on Jan. 30. The LFP said on its Web site Thursday that it made the decision after consulting with French Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux.

Matches between Nice and PSG have led to violent clashes and several injuries in recent seasons.

If the match had not been behind closed doors, security concerns would have been high after recent fan violence between rival groups of PSG supporters at a home game against Marseille on Feb. 28 that left one PSG fan in a coma.
