Hreidarsson, who is currently recovering from Achilles surgery, is out of contract in the summer and has yet to be offered a new deal. The 35-year-old has established himself as a big fans' favourite at Pompey and he is keen to stay at the club once he returns to full fitness. Due to his injury and the club's financial position, Hreidarsson has yet to be offered a new contract, but the Icelander is keen to prolong his stay on the south coast. Hreidarsson's agent Olafur Gardarsson claims the big defender is determined to regain his fitness and stay at Portsmouth. "Hermann will come back he is not quitting [because of the injury], " Gardarsson told skysports.com. "He is hoping to be back in October or November. "I think it would only be fair if Portsmouth offer Hermann a new deal as he has given them everything. "We have not had an offer yet, but Hermann would love to stay as he likes it at Portsmouth and he loves the fans. "I believe he can play at the highest level for another two or three years. "If you were in a war, you would want someone like Hermann on your side."
