English Premier League midfielder Fabrice Muamba tweeted for the first time Saturday since his on-field cardiac arrest, thanking fans for their support and cheering on his own teammates.
"Thank u so much 4 ur prayers, love and support," the Bolton Wanderers player wrote ahead of the team's game at Sunderland. "Good 2 be back on twitter. Hoping BWFC pick up 3pts today, come on lads we can do this."
It was still not known whether the 24-year-old can resume his professional soccer career as he continues his stunning recovery from his shock collapse last month.
Muamba's heart stopped beating for 78 minutes after his cardiac arrest during Bolton's FA Cup quarter-final game at Tottenham on March 17, and he remained unconscious for three days.
But he amazed medics by being fit enough to walk out of the London Chest Hospital a month later.
Before Saturday, the last message Muamba had written himself on Twitter was on the day of his collapse, when he said he was just reaching Tottenham's White Hart Lane ground.
