The Scottish goalkeeper has missed the last 10 months of action for the Black Cats, but is hoping to resume training shortly. Gordon has made over 20 Premier League starts only once in the last three seasons and O'Neill knows he is eager to return. The former Aston Villa manager will review Gordon's progress after the update before deciding on his availability. "Craig is going to undergo a number of tests, and we'll see how he is after that," O'Neill told the Shields Gazette. "He's been out for a long time, and obviously he's anxious to get back."
